"You are not broken, and there is nothing to 'fix.'"
One element of my philosophy that is foundational, and may be confusing, is that I believe that there is nothing to 'fix' and you are not broken. I believe we are all whole beings that have become fragmented in one way or another and are striving to, in a new way that fits our lives today, achieve a synthesis of mind, body, soul and spirit that comes naturally to us all. It is those fragmented, disowned, buried, denied parts of ourselves that hold much of our 'missing' life force, an essential element to healing.
I offer counseling that engages with the person you are and looks at the person you want to be. I work in a collaborative, somatically-oriented, person-centered style that focuses on the connections between body and mind, stress and health, and the links between emotion and overall satisfaction. I do this through utilizing your best resource: you. By observing the breath and working with the body, while also identifying patterns in thoughts and actions, together we will change the way you see the world and yourself. All this will happen while shifting the ways in which you interact with the world, how you live in your body, as well as the ways you define who you are.
